The Price Of Beauty

TO RETAIN the title of one of the most beautiful women in the world, it's been estimated that Princess Di spends about two hours a day on grooming and a few afternoons a week having specialist treatments such as facials, manicures, collagen injections and non-surgical facelift procedures.

For Diana, the art of being beautiful is a serious business that requires lots of time and money. The British press speculates that Diana will contemplate a facelift when she is in her 40s. Apparently she is already undergoing Computer Aided Cosmetology Instrument (CACI) treatments - a series of non-surgical facelifts in which a painless electrical current stimulates the skin.

Diana has regular facials and is apparently fond of the Clarins Paris Method which concentrates on massage and lymphatic drainage - great for tired and stressed skin. If you could X-ray her make-up bag, you'd find a phial of La Prairie's Age Management Line Inhibitor, Clarins Eye Gel and Beauty Flash and masks and gels from The Body Shop and the English company, Secret Garden.

When it comes to hair, Diana is dedicated. Sam McKnight, the super-star stylist, visits Kensington Palace four mornings a week to give her a scalp massage and deep conditioning treatment. Diana apparently has her hair coloured as a smattering of grey has just started to show. When holidaying, Diana likes The Body Shop's Banana Hair Putty.

Because Diana's daily life involves so many public appearances, a professional make-up artist is always at hand to make sure her image is perfect. She never leaves home these days without a full face of make-up.
